Thankful, #7

Okay, it's been a while. Sorry again :)

So... today, I'm thankful for music - in specific, good music. I love music! Music touches the heart. Did you know, your body can tell that music is playing, even if you can't hear it? Also, I've heard that the stars make music... whether you believe that or not, I do!

"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork."
     ~ Psalm 19:1

"Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;"
     ~ Ephesians 5:19

"Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works."
     ~ Psalm 105:2

"And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;"
     ~ Revelation 5:9

A Song I Want Played (or sung) at my wedding

Here's day 12's song! I asked my friend about it... and this is the song she sang. She did change a couple of things, and I like the way she did it better. Anyways, here's the song. It's "When God Made You" by Newsong.

Day 18: A Time When I Felt Passionate & Alive

There have been times when I was playing the piano, practicing hymns and things, and I felt like that. One of the songs I've been practicing lately is "How Majestic is Thy Name" by Ron Hamilton. It's really a beautiful song, and it's easy to get overwhelmed thinking about just how majestic God really is! :)

Day 16: A Song that Makes Me Cry

Here's one. Its called "Somewhere in the Middle" by Casting Crowns. It makes me cry because, well, I find myself, waaaaay to many times, 'somewhere in the middle'. I long to be 100% on fire for Christ!

J.J. Heller "Your Hands"

Steven Curtis Chapman - God Is God

By His Wounds - Steven Curtis Chapman, Brian Littrell, Mac Powell, Mark ...

Day 1: A Favorite Song

Oh My!! How am I going to pick just ONE favorite song??? Maybe I'll pick a few instead...

So, I love hymns... and I would have to say that And Can it Be, Come Thou Fount, and As the Deer.

For other songs, I don't know how I could possibly pick my favorite!!! So, I've picked three: "By His Wounds," "God is God," and "Your Hands." Since for some reason I can't get them all on the same post, I'll post one at a time.

In Christ Alone

Since I came across this song awhile ago, it has been very encouraging to me - especially the last verse. It is especially encouraging since America is turning her back on God. It may be not be very far off that Christians will be persecuted in the U.S. Now, of course, ultimately, I go to the Bible for strength, courage, and comfort. This song just, pretty much, I guess, sums up those things that I find very comforting in the Bible. Anyway, I figured I'd post the lyrics here... and by the way, I do have this song on my playlist - it's the last song.

In Christ alone my hope is found.
He is my light, my strength, my song.
This cornerstone, this solid ground,
firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace!
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease.
My Comforter, my All-in-All,
here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone, who took on flesh,
fullness of God a helpless babe.
This gift of love and righteousness,
scorned by the ones he came to save.
Till on that cross, as Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied.
For every sin on Him was laid!
Here in the depth of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay –
Light of the world by darkness slain.
Then bursting forth in glorious day,
up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory,
sins curse has lost its grip on me.
For I am His, and He is mine,
bought with the precious blood of Christ.
No guilt in life, no fear in death.
This is the power of Christ in me.

From life’s first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
can ever pluck me from His hand.
Till He returns, or calls me home,
here in the power of Christ I’ll stand.
