Thankful, #8

What in the world am I suppose to be thankful for today? I have waaay too many things to be thankful for... I think if I said them all we'd be here forever, and ever, and ever... etc :D
You know what, that'll be my thankful today. I am thankful that God blesses us over and above all that we ever could or would deserve.

"It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not."
     ~ Lamentations 3:22

"Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!"
     ~ Psalm107:8

"Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is his name; call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not."
     ~ Jeremiah 33:2-3

"And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen."
     ~ John 21:25

Thankful, #6

I am thankful for people who "push" you to serve God... you know, push in a good way. I guess what I really mean is those who encourage you to walk with Him. The ones you know are praying for you, even if they haven't told you they are. The ones who sacrifice their time, desires, money - and so much more - to help give you a solid foundation. The ones who always, always, always point you to Christ. Who tell you to look up. Where would I be without those people? Certainly not even near as close to my Savior as I am now.

"And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:"
     ~ Hebrews 10:24

"Wherefore seeing we also are compasses about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."
     ~ Hebrews 12:1-2

Thankful, #4

Hello, again! Sorry I didn't write over the weekend... went to a conference with my youth group. We had an awesome time :D.

So, today, I am thankful for those who have gone on before: soldiers and martyrs. It is because of the soldier's sacrifices that we have freedoms today. Some have given their time and their safety to defend us... some have given so much more.
Martyrs... while they have not purchased our freedom. But they remind us that our lives are not our own. They remind us to look to Christ, to trust in Him alone. They point us to Him.
Sacrifice is important. Soldiers demonstrate this. Martyrs demonstrate this. Christ demonstrated the ultimate sacrifice for us on the cross. We should never take this for granted.

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
     ~ John 15:13

"Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions. Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: and others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: they were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect."
     ~ Hebrews 11:33-40

"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,"
     ~ Hebrews 12:1

Hello!

Hello, out there! It's been a while...
Hopefully I will continue this blog, we'll see. I plan to, anyway.
You know, a lot can happen in 11 months... and I mean a LOT! I guess I'll save my "list" of changes for next month, though, just because :D.
From now until Thanksgiving I am going to (attempt to) post one thing I am thankful for a day, starting with today. Today's thankful thing is:

I am thankful for God's love. The more you contemplate how much He loves us, the more you can't help but love Him back. He loved us so much... we are so unworthy... we can never serve Him enough!

     "...God is love"
     ~ 1 John 4:8

"Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."
     ~ Philippians 2:6-8

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
     ~ Romans 5:8

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
     ~ John 3:16

Memorial Day

I know I'm about a week late, but I would like to say a big thank-you to all those who have served in the U.S. Military, and to remember those who have and are no longer with us. Thank you for being willing to lay your life on the line to preserve America's freedom!

First Post

Hello! I just started my blog, and it's very exciting! I'd like to thank my older sister, Jessika, for helping me get this started.
