Summertime Ramblings

Hey! Haven't been on in a while. Why?
Graduation... summer camp... yeah. So, sorry about that. I'll attempt to start up my "observed"s again, but for now... I just feel like writing a post, so here I go.
For one thing, God is the most amazing Person that ever was. I'm guessing you already knew that. If you did, take a minute and think about it! If you didn't, think about it, too. He created the world, and people, knowing we would sin and cause Him pain. Then, He paid the price for that sin. He didn't have to. But for some reason He did. And He didn't stop there, either. Because He gave us His Word, His Spirit, and cares about every single thing we do, say, are, think. He never leaves His own. He answers our requests, comforts us, guides us, grows us. We are so unworthy, yet He does. (Thought: He's given us all of Him - and we are unworthy of it! How can we do anything else than to give all we are to Him, without reserve? Give it all to Him, including our heart's throne. It's easier said than done; but more than worth the struggle.) It's amazing. And the deeper you seek Him, the greater you realize He is. Here's a truth I've been realizing this year:

"Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you."
     ~ James 4:8a

And I encourage you, don't just read that snippet of a verse. Read its context. Read the whole of chapter 4. Read all of James. For that matter, read the whole Book!

Another thought that I've been thinking about this summer: (ladies!) "If you're not for sale, don't advertise." I'm talking about clothes. You know, all the things ladies wear during summer. I'll say it again (to myself, too!) "if you're not for sale, don't advertise."
There are some who would say, "it's fine to wear shorts, bikinis, etc.; it's hot out. Don't teach girls to be ashamed of their bodies, teach guys not to view girls as objects of lust." To which I would reply:
     1) People often learn more by example (or demonstration) than by words. If we teach guys that we, as girls, aren't objects of lust, and then dress like we are, which do you think they'll believe? What we say, or what we're teaching them by what we do?
     2) No one's teaching girls to be ashamed of their bodies. By being modest, girls are learning to treasure their bodies instead of throwing them away to just any guy who may be watching. I don't want to give myself away for free. So I'm not going to dress as if I do.

"If you're not for sale, don't advertise."

Actually, I think that's all for now. I will do my best to write as soon as possible. Whether I do or not, remember to do

All for His glory,
